[HAPPENING NOW] There's a protest on the R571, residents of Mangweni in Nkomazi Mpumalanga are demanding justice for ANC councillor Thabo Ngwenya who was shot and killed at his home last night.
They want the police to act swiftly in apprehending the perpetrators who are still at large.
They also claim that some police officers are colluding with criminals.
The police in Evander in Mpumalanga are searching for a woman who concealed birth in the early hours of this morning, 04 April 2024.
It would appear as though the woman gave birth on the grass next to the drain, thereby dumping the baby inside the drain and leaving behind the placenta on the grass.
The baby was spotted by a passerby at about 06h30 who informed the police and emergency personnel.
The baby was then rescued and taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Gospel singer Funanani Mbedzi was allegedly killed in church by her husband on Saturday.
Funi was one of Worship House’s lead singer; the church confirmed her passing.
The police reported that the murder suspect entered the church in Makonde Shadani village, outside Thohoyandou, around 6 pm while the congregation was engaged in worship and shot at his wife multiple times.
Limpopo SAPS spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the husband fled the scene after killing his partner.
“While the motive behind this appalling incident remains unclear, domestic violence cannot be ruled out. The man handed himself over to the police yesterday after being on the run for two days.
