LEVEL 2 THUNDERSTORMS MIGHT HIT POLOKWANE FROM 2PM TODAY 

POLOKWANE – The South African Weather Service has issued a Level 2 of a severe thunderstorm with minor impact warning for Polokwane this afternoon, 14 March 2024.

According to South African Weather Service, this is due to a week of high maximum temperatures.


It says that the warning will take effect from 14:00 this afternoon until 23:59 tonight.

Abandoned Newborn Baby Found at Bhuga Clinic

an abandoned newborn baby was discovered late last night by vigilant security guards. Reports indicate that a woman, who had disguised herself as someone seeking health assistance for the infant, reportedly left the baby unattended and absconded from the scene.

The helpless newborn, wrapped in a cloth, was found near the clinic premises by the diligent security guards on their routine patrol. Upon discovering the infant, the security guards immediately contacted local law enforcement, who promptly arrived at the scene to take custody of the child.


Authorities are now engaged in efforts to locate and identify the woman who abandoned the newborn.

TROPICAL STORM FILIPO TO AFFECT SOME PARTS OF LIMPOPO 

LIMPOPO – The South African Weather Service (SAWS) says that heavy rainfall is expected in several areas of the lowveld regions of Limpopo today and tomorrow.


This as a severe tropical storm Filipo makes landfall and intensifies over the southern Mozambican coastline.

SESHEGO MAN( 47) WHO SURVIVED HIJACKING SUCCUM TO HIS INJURIES

POLOKWANE: A 47-year-old man succumbed to fatal stab wounds after surviving hijacking in Seshego. 


According to Limpopo Police Spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, preliminary findings indicate that on Saturday, 09 March 2024, around 03:00 in the morning, the victim drove himself to the hospital following an attack by unidentified individuals allegedly attempting to hijack him.


Police Spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says that the Seshego man received treatment and was discharged the next day, Sunday, 10 March 2024.

Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says that subsequently, on Monday, 11 March 2024, he sought medical advice at a local facility before returning home and during the early hours of Tuesday, 12 March 2024, he experienced severe pain and was rushed to a local hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.


He further says that at this stage, the identity of the victim is being withheld pending further investigation.

POLOKWANE PSYCHIATRIST SAYS ITS UNUSUAL FOR 9 YEAR TO RAPE AND CANNOT BE CHARGED

Capricorn FM news report that a psychiatrist from Goodwill mental health clinic in Polokwane, Dr Wisani Makhomisane says it is uncommon that a child as young as nine years old can plan cognitively to rape someone.

According to Capricorn FM news, Makhomisane was reacting to the rape of a 3-year-old girl, allegedly by two 9-year-old boys, in Ngwenani Ya Themeli, in Thohoyandou.


She says according to the South African law, children under the age of 12 years are assumed to not have criminal capacity which means that they cannot be charged and appear in the court of law.

40 year old Barberton man Gets life sentence for killing his 19 year old girlfriend

Velly Teddy ‘Simbarara’ Thwala (40) from Barberton has been convicted of the premeditated murder of his girlfriend, Nontobeko Nosipho Msithini (19), and has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Mpumalanga Division of the High Court.

Thwala was witnessed pushing a bag with blood dripping from it in a trolley by community members. Upon investigation, they discovered Msithini's lifeless body inside the bag.


Nyuswa recounted the events leading to the murder, stating that on the evening of February 18, 2023, Thwala woke up to find his girlfriend missing from his residence. Upon learning that she was seen with her ex-boyfriend at a local tavern, Thwala, armed with a knobkerrie, sought her out. He assaulted her severely with the weapon, ultimately causing her death. Subsequently, he put her body in a black bag.

During the trial, Thwala dismissed his legal defense and chose to represent himself, pleading not guilty to the charges. Testimonies from witnesses, including one who saw Thwala attack the victim and others who witnessed him moving the body in a trolley, along with Thwala's own confession upon arrest, were pivotal in securing the conviction.
